Meeting Report

The Board of Directors of Friends of Grant Creek invites you to a public meeting at the Grant Creek Inn on March 29, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.  If you cannot attend the meeting in person, a Zoom connection will allow participants to watch the meeting and submit questions and comments. (pre-registration for participating via Zoom is required.)

The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed rezoning on Expo Parkway to RM1-45 zone, which would allow 4-story apartment buildings on two parcels.

The developer, KJA, proposes to build approximately 625 apartment units and 75 condo-style buildings, all of which will be available for rent but not sale.  The FOGC Board of Directors have outlined the reasons to ask for a denial of the rezone application and would like to use this outline as a guide for the discussion on March 29.

Grant Creek Village - Rezoning Timeline:

  • April 18, 2022 at 6:00pm – City Council: First reading of the rezoning ordinance, set a public hearing date, and refer the item to the Land Use and Planning Committee

  • April 19, 2022 at 6:00pm - Planning Board: Public hearing

  • May 4, 2022 (time TBD) - Land Use and Planning Committee: Pre-public hearing informational meeting

  • May 9, 2022 at 6:00pm – City Council: Public hearing

  • May 11, 2022 (time TBD) – Land Use and Planning Committee: Post-public hearing informational meeting

  • May 16, 2022 at 6:00 pm –City Council: Final consideration

The City Council public hearing is also planned to be held in person at City Council Chambers at 140 West Pine Street in Missoula.
